I am a full time pastor and part-time therapist. I have been a therapist for about 3 years now. I have my bachelor’s degree in English from Cornerstone University. I have my MDIV and MA in Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.

Issues I treat:  Pre-marital, marriage and family, anxiety/depression, faith-specific issues, grief/loss, anger, stress, substance abuse/addiction, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. In my private practice I provide services to individuals, couples, and families. Sessions involve an eclectic counseling approach including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavioral and Family Systems Theory, Reality Therapy, The Gottman method, Existential Theory, Rogerian Therapy, etc.

My role as a therapist is to help you recognize your needs and wants, and to offer you support during the process of healing and growth. My therapeutic philosophy is a strength-based approach that is based on my belief that you are the expert of your life. We will work together to discover the best way for you to find answers to your problems.

I am a Christian, and generally I counsel from a Christian perspective, but I will respect the wishes of each client who comes in my door, whether you would like me to work from a Christian worldview or simply a neutral psychological perspective. I chose to become a therapist because I believe God has called me into this environment. I believe healing can be maximized in a 1:1 or 2:1 therapeutic environment. I love the ability to meet with people 1:1, to hear their stories, and to come alongside them and help them heal.

I call my immediate family, good friends, and church family my family. I enjoy spending time with my wife and close friends. My wife and I love going to the beach in the summer.
